The Blood Of Sprinkling

“Having an High Priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water” (Hebrews 10:21, 22). 

Did you know the Bible taught sprinkling? Here it is! What is to be sprinkled? Our hearts. And with what? Blood. Our bodies are to be washed with water. at is baptism. When the body is washed with water and the heart sprinkled with Jesus’ blood, the result is freedom from an evil conscience. 

What your conscience says to you depends upon who is using it. What you hear from a piano depends on who sits at the keyboard, doesn’t it? Similarly, if Satan is playing on the keyboard of your conscience, he may give you an easy time when you should be having a hard time or he may hound and worry you when you ought to feel free and joyous in Christ. 

Only a heart sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ is truly free from guilt. And the purpose of that blood of sprinkling is not to quiet the mind in rebellion but to take away sin and to deliver the soul from slavery to Satan. 

Let us draw near to Christ “in full assurance of faith”—the assurance that comes from faith. Faith is believing God. “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Romans 4:3). If we will simply believe what the Lord says as Abraham did, we can have the same assurance of righteousness by faith. 

So when John declares, “Sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4), I accept his definition. When Jesus says that He has come to save His people from their sins, I respond, “Yes, dear Lord, I believe You can, and I want to be saved, not only from the death which is the end of sin, but from the sin which is the beginning of death. I desire to get rid of the root, not merely the fruit. I want to be delivered.” And Jesus says, “My child, I am here to do that very thing. Come near.” 

We have already studied about the sprinkling of the blood on the horns of the brazen altar, on the golden altar, and on the mercy seat, but all that will be unavailing as far as you and I are concerned unless that same precious blood is sprinkled on us. Notice the lesson from the type. “When Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying, is is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:19-22). Moses sprinkled not only the book of the covenant and the sanctuary but also the people. 

You remember that in the final plague on Egypt at the time of the Exodus the angel of death passed through the land and killed the firstborn in every family. But God provided a way of escape for His people. “Through faith he [Moses] kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them” (Hebrews 11:28). On that eventful evening the father of the believing household slew a lamb and sprinkled the blood on the lintel and on the door posts. Through that night of judgment all the family stayed inside that blood-sprinkled home. The blood must be sprinkled on the door. 

In Hebrews 12 the apostle referred to the terrors of Mount Sinai when God proclaimed His law amid thunders and lightning. But the Christian does not come to that mount. Instead “ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel” (Hebrews 12:22-24). Can blood speak? Yes, indeed. You remember that God said to Cain, “The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10). Abel’s blood cried for vengeance; Jesus’ blood cries for mercy. 

The sprinkled blood has a double message. First of all, it reveals to us sin’s terribleness. As we approach the cross and see the blood dropping from the wounds in Jesus’ head, hands, and feet we exclaim, “O Lord, what has happened? Why is this?” and He answers, “ This is the fruit of sin.” 

Let us go back to the Garden of Eden and think of the first transgression. Eve wandered near the forbidden tree—curiosity leading her on—heard the serpent speak, put forth her hand, plucked the fruit, and ate it. Many people today would say, “What a little thing!” But sin is rebellion—choosing my way instead of God’s way. That one sin opened the floodgates of woe upon our world. 

Suppose that Adam’s and Eve’s eating of the forbidden fruit had been the only sin ever committed. Would Jesus have had to sacrifice His life in order to save them? Is sin that bad? When you lose your temper and mar the peace of your home with angry words, does it cost Jesus’ death to forgive you? Do lustful imaginations harboured, selfish ambitions nurtured, covetous thoughts cultivated, make necessary the cross of Calvary? Then you agree that sin is not trivial. 

More than one man has awakened from a drunken stupor and found himself in jail. As some of his besotted brain cells begin to function, he cries out, “Where am I? Why am I here? What happened?” The guard responds, “Don’t you know what happened? You murdered your wife!” “Me? Murdered my wife? No, no! I love her! I wouldn’t kill her.” “But you did. You choked her to death last night.” As the effects of the alcohol continue to wear o and full sobriety returns, how he cries out in anguish! “Me! I murdered my wife? I wish I hadn’t taken that whiskey! I wish I hadn’t taken that whiskey!” 

We need to awaken from sin’s stupor, because until we have sorrowed for our sin and have sensed that it has murdered the Son of God, we are not ready for the word of peace and reconciliation. Conviction and repentance come before pardon. As the message of the sprinkled blood changes my thoughts, sin no longer seems funny. It murdered my best Friend (my Beloved Husband). 

Look to Jesus on Calvary—hanging there in the blackness of despair. What is happening to Him? He is drinking the bitter cup. He is tasting death for every man. Watch while Satan lashes at Him, as he inspires the multitude to torment Him in His dying agonies. is is the nature of sin! If you stay with sin, it will do that to you. Let the blood from Jesus’ wounds fall on you. As it cleanses your evil conscience you will cry, “O God, I don’t want to follow the devil any more.” 

But the sprinkled blood holds a second message. It reveals not the only the terrible character of sin but also the wonderful character of God. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16)—gave Him to die that cruel death for us. And the Son gave Himself. As He hung there in agony Satan tortured Him with the temptation that if He died in the sinner’s place, He could never live again. There came a point in that tragedy when He could not see through the portals of the tomb, but He loved us so much that He was willing to be blotted out. 

As His sprinkled blood drops upon your soul can you doubt that He will give you the pardon that He died to make possible? If you were in prison under $10,000 bond and a friend should raise the money so that you could get out, would you question his desire to have you released? Looking at Calvary, we cannot doubt the Saviour’s love, for the same cross that tells us how bad sin is tells us how good God is. Here we not only experience repentance, we can also find faith. Here we obtain sorrow for sin, and joy because of forgiveness. 

“The sprinkled blood is speaking Before the Father’s throne, the Spirit’s pow’r is seeking To make its virtues known; The sprinkled blood is telling Jehovah’s love to man, While heav’nly harps are swelling Sweet notes to mercy’s plan. “The sprinkled blood is speaking Forgiveness full and free, Its wondrous pow’r is breaking Each bond of guilt for me. The sprinkled blood is pleading Its virtue as my own, And there my soul is reading Her title to Thy throne.” R&R WDF

Asking Our Father

Christ declares, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

The Saviour continues: “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?”

In order to strengthen our confidence in God, Christ teaches us to address Him by a new name, a name entwined with the dearest associations of the human heart. He gives us the privilege of calling the infinite God our Father. This name, spoken to Him and of Him, is a sign of our love and trust toward Him, and a pledge of His regard and relationship to us. Spoken when asking His favor or blessing, it is as music in His ears. That we might not think it presumption to call Him by this name, He has repeated it again and again. He desires us to become familiar with the appellation.

God regards us as His children. He has redeemed us out of the careless world and has chosen us to become members of the royal family, sons and daughters of the heavenly King. He invites us to trust in Him with a trust deeper and stronger than that of a child in his earthly father. Parents love their children, but the love of God is larger, broader, deeper, than human love can possibly be. It is immeasurable. Then if earthly parents know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more shall our Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? COL  141,142

You can see clearly from world history and current events, that all of these Inspired predictions have been proven true. You know the names of the many branches of this powerful organisation and their various deceitful tactics. The same methods are being used now by them, that we have seen from -

Now we are seeing her daughters playing their role in prophecy and fulfilling the Image of the Beast (IOB) in the lamblike nation of prophecy. We should know our enemy and his tactics, but we are not to dwell on this information but, to “have the mind of Christ”, which He will give us as He abides continually in us. One highly successful strategy which has never failed and they have used it constantly is “divide and conquer”. It has reached even into the LORD’s final denominated people; His church and to us in the Present Truth.

The masterpiece of deception is the Trinity doctrine formulated at the Council of Nicaea AD 325. This highlights, clearer than any other doctrine in his church, the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan. In this one stroke he exposes exactly what he wants to do with our Precious Saviour and His rightful place in Heaven and the Universe.

But, “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world”.

Which is why Paul also admonishes us -

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:10-17

In Galatians he admonishes us to “put on Christ”, and when we look at the armour - each piece is Christ, and He has promised to abide with us forever..

BUT, there will be a people in graphic contrast to the beast and his image, who will be prepared, ready and waiting for their Leader’s next instruction, moment by moment as the final scenes continue to unfold; they will be able to present the third angel’s message but they will also be living it; by “the faith of Jesus”, just as He lived. You are called to be one of these and to “strive with all the power that God has given to be among the 144,000”; who will have no deceit (“guile”), pure, open honest; Christlike, reflecting His character perfectly. 

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. Revelation 14:1-5

The Light of Life - 4

The fact that Jesus spoke the truth, and that with certainty, was why He was not received by the Jewish leaders. It was the truth that offended these self-righteous men. The truth exposed the fallacy of error; it condemned their teaching and practice, and it was unwelcome. They would rather close their eyes to the truth than humble themselves to confess that they had been in error. They did not love the truth. They did not desire it, even though it was truth.

“Which of you convicteth [RV] Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe Me?” Day by day for three years His enemies had been following Christ, trying to find some stain in His character. Satan and all the confederacy of evil had been seeking to overcome Him; but they had found nothing in Him by which to gain an advantage. Even the devils were forced to confess, “Thou art the Holy One of God.” Mark 1:24. Jesus lived the law in the sight of heaven, in the sight of unfallen worlds, and in the sight of sinful men. Before angels, men, and demons, He had spoken, unchallenged, words that from any other lips would have been blasphemy: “I do always those things that please Him.”

The fact that although they could find no sin in Christ the Jews would not receive Him proved that they themselves had no connection with God. They did not recognize His voice in the message of His Son. They thought themselves passing judgment on Christ; but in rejecting Him they were pronouncing sentence upon themselves. “He that is of God,” said Jesus, “heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”

The lesson is true for all time. Many a man who delights to quibble, to criticize, seeking for something to question in the word of God, thinks that he is thereby giving evidence of independence of thought, and mental acuteness. He supposes that he is sitting in judgment on the Bible, when in truth he is judging himself. He makes it manifest that he is incapable of appreciating truths that originate in heaven, and that compass eternity. In presence of the great mountain of God's righteousness, his spirit is not awed. He busies himself with hunting for sticks and straws, and in this betrays a narrow and earthly nature, a heart that is fast losing its capacity to appreciate God. He whose heart has responded to the divine touch will be seeking for that which will increase his knowledge of God, and will refine and elevate the character… DA 467,468

As God Opens the Way

The time has come, when, as God opens the way, families should move out of the cities. The children should be taken into the country. The parents should get as suitable a place as their means will allow. Though the dwelling may be small, yet there should be land in connection with it, that may be cultivated. CL 24

Reconciled

“Be reconciled to thy brother.”—Matthew 5:24.

The love of God is something more than a mere negation; it is a positive and active principle, a living spring, ever flowing to bless others. If the love of Christ dwells in us, we shall not only cherish no hatred toward our fellows, but we shall seek in every way to manifest love toward them. 

Jesus said, “If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” The sacrificial offerings expressed faith that through Christ the offerer had become a partaker of the mercy and love of God. But for one to express faith in God's pardoning love, while he himself indulged an unloving spirit, would be a mere farce. 

When one who professes to serve God wrongs or injures a brother, he misrepresents the character of God to that brother, and the wrong must be confessed, he must acknowledge it to be sin, in order to be in harmony with God. Our brother may have done us a greater wrong than we have done him, but this does not lessen our responsibility. If when we come before God we remember that another has aught against us, we are to leave our gift of prayer, of thanksgiving, of freewill offering, and go to the brother with whom we are at variance, and in humility confess our own sin and ask to be forgiven.

If we have in any manner defrauded or injured our brother, we should make restitution. If we have unwittingly borne false witness, if we have misstated his words, if we have injured his influence in any way, we should go to the ones with whom we have conversed about him, and take back all our injurious misstatements. 

If matters of difficulty between brethren were not laid open before others, but frankly spoken of between themselves in the spirit of Christian love, how much evil might be prevented! How many roots of bitterness whereby many are defiled would be destroyed, and how closely and tenderly might the followers of Christ be united in His love! MB 58-59

Update

 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication,
and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously,
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her,
...and slaves, and souls of men.
that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness!
for thy merchants were the great men of the earth;
for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints,
and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Today men and nations are being tested by the plummet in the hand of Him who makes no mistake. All are by their own choice deciding their destiny, and God is overruling all for the accomplishment of His purposes.
Today the signs of the times declare that we are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Everything in our world is in agitation…
The present is a time of overwhelming interest to all living. Rulers and statesmen, men who occupy positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention fixed upon the events taking place about us. They are watching the relations that exist among the nations. They observe the intensity that is taking possession of every earthly element, and they recognize that something great and decisive is about to take place—that the world is on the verge of a stupendous crisis.
We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecy is fast fulfilling.
...here is soon to open before us a period of overwhelming interest to all living. The controversies of the past are to be revived; new controversies will arise. The scenes to be enacted in our world are not yet even dreamed of. Satan is at work through human agencies. Those who are making an effort to change the Constitution and secure a law enforcing Sunday observance little realize what will be the result. A crisis is just upon us.
Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men... are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails...In the great cities there are multitudes living in poverty and wretchedness, well-nigh destitute of food, shelter, and clothing; while in the same cities are those who have more than heart could wish, who live luxuriously, spending their money on richly furnished houses, on personal adornment, or worse still, upon the gratification of sensual appetites, upon liquor, tobacco, and other things that destroy the powers of the brain, unbalance the mind, and debase the soul. The cries of starving humanity are coming up before God, while by every species of oppression and extortion men are piling up colossal fortunes...Men...by robbery and extortion are amassing great riches...City...buildings rising story after story toward heaven.
Much of the money that they thus invested had been obtained through exaction, through grinding down the poor...There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis...The world is stirred with the spirit of war...The spirit of war is stirring the nations from one end of the earth to the other.
In the world gigantic monopolies will be formed...A few men will combine to grasp all the means to be obtained in certain lines of business.
Men will bind themselves together in unions that will wrap them in the folds of the enemy... Trades unions will be formed, and those who refuse to join these unions will be marked men...The principles governing the forming of these unions seem innocent, but men have to pledge themselves to serve the interests of these unions, or else they may have to pay the penalty of refusal with their lives.
These unions are one of the signs of the last days. Men are binding up in bundles ready to be burned...to belong to these unions means to disregard the entire decalogue.
The trade unions will be one of the agencies that will bring upon this earth a time of trouble such as has not been since the world began.
Those who hold the reins of government…are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis.
The time was when Protestants placed a high value upon the liberty of conscience which had been so dearly purchased...But how widely different are the sentiments now expressed!
And let it be remembered, it is the boast of Rome that she never changes...And had she but the power, she would put them in practice with as much vigor now as in past centuries
...Rome is aiming to re-establish her power, to recover her lost supremacy...She is silently growing into power. Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men. She is piling up her lofty and massive structures in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions will be repeated. Stealthily and unsuspectedly she is strengthening her forces to further her own ends when the time shall come for her to strike. All that she desires is vantage ground, and this is already being given her. We shall soon see and shall feel what the purpose of the Roman element is.
Thousands deify nature while they deny the God of nature. Though in a different form, idolatry exists in the Christian world today...The God of many professedly wise men, of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists—the God of polished fashionable circles, of many colleges and universities, even of some theological institutions—is little better than Baal, the sun-god of Phoenicia.
O that God's people had a sense of the impending destruction of thousands of cities, now almost given to idolatry!
Courts of justice are corrupt. Rulers are actuated by desire for gain and love of sensual pleasure. Intemperance has beclouded the faculties of many so that Satan has almost complete control of them. Jurists are perverted, bribed, deluded. Drunkenness and revelry, passion, envy, dishonesty of every sort, are represented among those who administer the laws...The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected...Satan is constantly endeavoring to attract attention to man in the place of God. He leads the people to look to bishops, to pastors, to professors of theology, as their guides, instead of searching the Scriptures to learn their duty for themselves...They pass by the Saviour's teachings almost unnoticed, and place implicit confidence in the words of the ministers...We are living in the most solemn period of this world's history. The destiny of earth's teeming multitudes is about to be decided. Our own future well-being and also the salvation of other souls depend upon the course which we now pursue...Events of vital importance are taking place around us; we are on Satan's enchanted ground.
Those who feel called out to join the movement in favour of woman's rights and so called dress reform might as well sever all connection with the third angel's message. The spirit which attends the one cannot be in harmony with the other. The Scriptures are plain upon the relations and rights of men and women.
...no safety in using eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the increase of wickedness among men...because of the iniquity of the fallen race, the whole animal creation will groan under the diseases that curse our earth.
People are continually eating flesh that is filled with tuberculous and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer, and other fatal diseases are thus communicated.
...the disease in animals is fast increasing.
...the prevailing pestilence...they would be in danger of being cut down by the pestilence...
What we have seen and heard of the pestilence, is but the beginning of what we shall see and hear. Soon the dead and dying will be all around us. I saw that some will be so hardened, as to even make sport of the judgments of God. Then the slain of the Lord will be from one end of the earth, to the other; they will not be lamented, gathered, nor buried; but their ill savor will come up from the face of the whole earth.. the storm of wrath, that will soon fall on the heads of those who have rejected the truth.
