Wonderful Name

And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21

Jesus - Gr. ησος Iesous, ee-ay-sooce´; of Hebrew origin; Jehoshua or Joshua.

As previously mentioned He has 1000+ names and many of them are regularly blasphemed and derivatives of them have also been introduced into the vocabulary of many, sadly, even by some of His professed followers. It is also noted that, many of them , including His name in the text above, have been: taken “in vain”, mocked, derided, rejected, despised, a swear word, has been “a song for the drunkards”, “laughed…to scorn”, “became a byword and a proverb to them…that sit in the gate”.
BUT,
To those who have been saved “from their sins” His name is everything!

Around this terrestrial globe souls “of every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue” have found Him to be their Saviour from sin.
Here is how the name Jesus is spelt by some of these faithful believers in His name:

Yeshua, Jesu, Gesu, Jezus, Jezu, Isuse, Xesús, Iesus, Jesosy, Iisus, Iesu, Iosa, Yesus, Ісус, Íosa

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory…set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all. Ephesians 1:17-23
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
