You Can Expect This

Whenever an attempt is made to bring together a group of people, it unfortunately proves to be a microcosm of humanity generally, and a display of of human history since the fall of man - since the first sin and the first murder. It has always been hoped that a gathering of God’s believers would be much better than that of the world, but history has unfortunately taught us that it can actually be more hurtful than the big world outside, but -

We have seen it all before, “and there is no new thing under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9

We have all observed that anyone since Abel, who speaks or stands for the Word of God, when it cuts across someone’s own thoughts and ideas will be on the receiving end of a direct personal attack, or a totally unrelated word or phrase of what they have said will be taken, avoiding the main point that they were trying to make, and it is attacked to belittle the person and divert from the Truth which had been presented and that was taken directly from the Scriptures, & or the “Testimony of Jesus”; which “is the Spirit of Prophecy” -

“For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Each person who has had this happen to them, and there have been many, have had to “hold fast” to the very words from the the two sources that they were standing for, because they are told in these volumes of eternal Truth that if you are faithful you can expect this treatment, no exceptions. Our Beloved Saviour, who certainly took the full force of this behaviour, encouraged us with these words of life -

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Matthew 5:11,12

To anyone who would like to continue these type of attacks on those who present texts or quotes of Truth, and stand firmly for eternal Truth, it would be wise to remember that in so doing you are fulfilling prophecy, repeating history, and that it is not ever personal and never will be; it is not about you, and it is certainly not about us; it is about the authority of the Word of God above every other thing on the face of this earth - knowing that -

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:10

To those who have silently observed all of this at times, while still believing the pure eternal Truth, and to those who have endeavoured to courageously stand for the pure eternal Truth of God, take courage again today from the words of Jehoshaphat, on that truely incredible day of Biblical history, as they continue to come echoing down through the years to us this moment -

Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem;

Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2 Chronicles 20:20
