There is no human way that you can overcome your inherited and cultivated tendencies to evil, we have all discovered that. No matter how hard you might try, you still cannot do the right thing; just give us all the right stimuli and we all will pull the trigger; “the old man of sin” will rise up and take over again. Christ contended with every inherited tendency to evil, but He did not allow these to rise to dominance within Him at any time, but instead He waited, fully dependant on God. This, He demonstrated, is the only way that you too can gain the victory — by total reliance on and abiding in Christ every moment of every day.
But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? Malachi 3:2
