Another rule of Bible interpretation is the use of - compare and contrast.
Sometimes throughout the whole Scriptures, in a Bible passage, or in a single verse, the author/s will express his thoughts by comparing something with something else, and at other times by contrasting it with something else. In this way we learn more deeply about the topic being discussed.
Judah vs Babylon - compare and contrast.
Judah
Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? Genesis 49:9
Babylon
When speaking of Babylon - The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. Daniel 7:4
Christ vs The Devil - compare and contrast.
Christ
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:5
The Devil
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8
God vs Bel & Nebo
Isaiah 46
