Mystery of Iniquity

The exaltation of self;

The mingling of good and evil, truth and error;

Religion of man - especially as seen in the Papacy.

Isaiah 14:12-20 ; Ezekiel 28:12-19

2 Thessalonians 2:7 - For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

TM 365 - “There are but two parties. Satan works with his crooked, deceiving power, and through strong delusions he catches all who do not abide in the truth, who have turned away their ears from the truth and have turned unto fables. Satan himself abode not in the truth; he is the mystery of iniquity. Through his subtlety he gives to his soul-destroying errors the appearance of truth. Herein is their power to deceive.”

2SAT 7, 8 - “Satan is already weaving his net about you... Men have so little knowledge of his wiles, so little understanding of the mystery of iniquity, that the enemy out-generals them almost every time.”

Pa 004 11 - “Look, you who are hesitating between obedience and disobedience. Look in imagination at the vast multitudes worshipping at Satan’s altar. Listen to the music, to the language, called higher education. But what does God declare it?—The mystery of iniquity.”.

GC 356 - The "man of sin," which is also styled "the mystery of iniquity," "the son of perdition," and "that wicked," represents the papacy, which, as foretold in prophecy, was to maintain its supremacy for 1260 years. “

18MR 30, 36 - “All need wisdom carefully to search out the mystery of iniquity that figures so largely in the winding up of this earth’s history... There is no middle path to Paradise restored. The message given to man for these last days is not to become amalgamated with human devising.”

RH September 12, 1893 - “False teachers may appear to be very zealous for the work of God, and may expend means to bring their theories before the world and the church; but as they mingle error with truth, their message is one of deception, and will lead souls into false paths. They are to be met, and opposed, not because they are bad men, but because they are teachers of falsehood, and are endeavoring to put upon falsehood the stamp of truth.”
