The Resources of the Christian Life

The World Missionary Conference, held in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1910, brought together 1300 delegates from various Protestant denominations worldwide.

They came on foot, bicycle, horse drawn vehicle, motorcar, tram, train, and sailing vessel. Some were even treated to their first steamship voyage.

An air of eager anticipation thrilled each heart as they waited for the presentation entitled, “The Resources of the Christian Life”. Little did the audience know that the most profound truth of Christianity since apostolic times was about to be stated.

An attendee at this meeting reported, “I expected him to give us a series of definite things that we could do to strengthen our Christian life; and I knew I needed them...”

The speaker stood up at the pulpit and his opening words were, “The resources of the Christian life, my friends, are — ”

The everlasting gospel is an individual work in each individual heart. As Christ lives His life out in and through you, with His mind, He will guide you to operate as He does. Even when speaking to thousands each one will be addressed individually. Time is never wasted when devoted to one single person. The Good Shepherd looks after and cares for the single lamb. The most important and glorious truths Christ has had recorded were to a one soul audience.

The operating policy of Above Every Name is based on the above statement.

None Higher

That the God of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of glory…set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all. I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Christ alone

Reaching out to and connecting with His faithful believers in "all Truth" worldwide “with the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters…Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”, we are together with Him for eternity, His holy people.

History is replete with examples of what His denominated people will DO during the delay of a tarrying time, instead of having their characters perfected, being prepared, ready, watching and patiently waiting on Him to unfold events in His time.

He has warned us and it has all been seen before,

"There is no new thing under the sun" Ecclesiastes 1:9.
