There is one aspect that is Absolutely Certain about our God —
He is love!
From Genesis — Revelation is seen the love of God in action. The extensive Conflict of the Ages series of books begin with and end with the words “God is love” —
“God is love.” 1 John 4:16. His nature, His law, is love. It ever has been; it ever will be...Every manifestation of creative power is an expression of infinite love...The history of the great conflict between good and evil, from the time it first began in heaven to the final overthrow of rebellion and the total eradication of sin, is also a demonstration of God's unchanging love. The Sovereign of the universe was not alone in His work of beneficence. He had an associate—a co-worker who could appreciate His purposes, and could share His joy in giving happiness to created beings. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.” John 1:1, 2. Christ, the Word, the only begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father—one in nature, in character, in purpose—the only being that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God. “His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6. His “goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2...“By Him were all things created...whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.” Colossians 1:16...The law of love being the foundation of the government of God, the happiness of all intelligent beings depends upon their perfect accord with its great principles of righteousness. God desires from all His creatures the service of love—service that springs from an appreciation of His character. He takes no pleasure in a forced obedience; and to all He grants freedom of will, that they may render Him voluntary service.
So long as all created beings acknowledged the allegiance of love, there was perfect harmony throughout the universe of God. It was the joy of the heavenly host to fulfil the purpose of their Creator. They delighted in reflecting His glory and showing forth His praise. And while love to God was supreme, love for one another was confiding and unselfish. There was no note of discord to mar the celestial harmonies. But a change came over this happy state. PP 33, 34
The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness, throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love. GC 678
There is a very sound reason why He cannot be any other way, and He never changes, being “the same yesterday, today and forever”:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1,2
The Heavenly Trio are each involved in every aspect of the Government of the Universe and personally with each one of us in our salvation from sin. Christ has taught us to refer to each One of them as — God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. We have all noticed something very different with the way that They interact with each other and this is the reason that They are Love — whenever One of The Three is speaking They always exalt The Other Member that They are referring to and never speak of self like those who have been stung with “the sting of death” do — Selfless. It is then very easy for us all to see why every one of the religions of the world with a monotheistic, one god outlook, do everything in fear of punishment or do what their god requires with a desire for rewards, and this cannot be sustained by anyone - it is impossible. They are automatically thrown into a realm of self, just like the god that they serve, without ever even realising it. They, while attempting to perform this form of allegiance, can never understand our God of Love.
As we rest in Christ and He lives His life out in and through us we will live and love just like Him, reflecting His character perfectly and then He can come and take us Home to Himself.
There is NO God like our God!
Creator of Heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 4:11;5:12,13
God is Love.
